The Slovenian Arts Program was established in 1982 with the support
from the
Frank and Mary Ermenc Memorial Fund, University of Wisconsin -
Milwaukee Foundation. The program operates under the auspices of the
University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee Peck School of the Arts. These funds
make possible the largest collection of Slovenian music on the American
continents (located at the UWM Golda Meir Library), and programs of
music, dance, lectures and films.
The Slovenian Arts Program is directed by the Slovenian Arts
Council, a representative group from the Slovenian-American
community in the Milwaukee area. The Slovenian Arts Council plans
various programs, in coordination with the University of
Wisconsin-Milwaukee Peck School of the Arts, to present the Slovenian
arts to the Slovenian community and the community at large.
